What can I say about me? Well, I'm an avid scrapper, bordering on obsessive! LOL! I also love photography, reading, baking, camping, blogging and drinking coffee. I've been scrapping since I was 9 years old and glued my favorite pictures and souvenirs into an over-sized wallpaper book. I no longer have that book, but I did try to save the memorabilia. I used to make my own scrapbooks using construction paper, but those have disappeared over time.
I've been published twice in two of Memory Makers Special Edition magazines--"Oh, Baby!" and "Get Organized". It was a dream come true for me. I've also won several contests through my lss a few years ago and placed second at the Creating Keepsakes Convention in Manchester, NH in 2009. That, too, was exciting! Every artist wants to be recognized for their hard work and I was so honored to place among so many other great scrappers.
Besides scrapping, I love to take pictures. If I had the money for a professional camera, I'd definitely be a pro photographer. Years ago, I used to sew which I now apply to my scrapping projects. Just about every craft I've done in the past will see its way into scrapping--I think that's why I love it so much! I also love to create minis. They are so addictive to me. It's been awhile since I've created some 12x12 layouts---for the last year, it's been nothing but mini albums and altered art.
I'm inspired by so many talented artists out there and I have blogging to thank for that. Blogging has opened my eyes to so many new ideas and techniques. And, I'm also grateful to those who are inspired by my work. I never think it's good enough and yet there are people out there who just love my creations. Thank you! And YoutTube--wow! That has done so much to make me think beyond the page and to think outside the box. I just LOVE YouTube!
As far as my personal life.....
I'm married--going on 28 years to Michael. We have two daughters of our own--Valerie who is 26 and is an Occupational Therapist at a local hospital. My other daughter, Jaclyn, is 23 and is special needs. She works part-time. I also have a step-daughter whose son, Zachery-age 13, we're raising. I also have two step-granddaughters. I work full-time as a certified nursing assistant at a local nursing home. My life is busy, often hectic, and yet fulfilling despite the ups and downs.
I hope this gives you idea of what I'm like. Stop by often and see what I have to offer on my blog. Thanks for stopping by. Please leave a comment. I love knowing what others may think.
Have a great day!
